Interlaken, though not too big in size, enjoys a beautiful location between two Alpine Lakes the Brienzsee and the Thun. Lying in the Bernese Highlands of Switzerland, Interlaken is a sight to behold and makes a superb tourist destination!

During the winter this place is even more spectacular as the snow covered white landscape acquires a magical white atmosphere. However, winter is a season not just for the eyes but also to be enjoyed in all sorts of physical activities.

Ski/Snowboard - The “Jungfrau winter sport region”, is one of the largest Snowboarding and skiing areas here. Including Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen, Grindelwald First and Mürren-Schilthorn, it covers a large area. Entry doesn’t cost much. A day pass for adults is sFr. 62-/, for youth is 39-/ and for children are 24-/. Another skiing park’s name is Beatenberg-Niederhorn, where the slopes are less steep and the area a bit less daring. A day-pass here costs 35.-/ for adults and 17.-/ for children.

Sledging – sledging runs from different places are possible. One such run is from Faulhorn to Grindelwald.  A gondola cableway will carry you up to Grindelwald and then you have to make leftover journey – 2h-3/2h uphill on your own. However all this exercise will bear its fruit when you reach the peak. Picturesque views of the Alps await you there and then the ride downhill on your sledge is an adrenaline driven thrilling experience! If you are afraid of cableways then these runs are also accessible by bus- Bussalp-Grindelwald (8km), Eiger Run in Grindelwald (3km), Niederhorn-Beatenberg (7km), Suhlwald-Isenfluh and Habkern (4km).

Night sledding – the cost for night sledging is € 74. This money also includes payment for a dinner of swiss cheese fondue at a restaurant located at the end f this trail. This adventure is worth every penny you are paying for it and the best part is that you don’t need to be very fit for this either. However you do need to make your booking well in advance.

Cross-country skiing – if you are extremely fond of skiing and are also confident of our talent in this particular sport you may choose to go cross-country skiing! There are two tracks for cross-country skiing. One is in Habkern/Lombach and Beatenberg featuring beautiful scenery all along. The other is in Aeschiried near Spiez, where you can experience the beauties of Lake Thun.

Ice-skating – with winter also come the pleasure of spending hour after hour upon frozen crystal like ice! If outdoor skating seems too dangerous you can also go to the indoor ice-rink in Matten near Interlaken.

Swimming/Wellness – you can enjoy the pleasures of swimming in the deathly cold winter in The Bödelibad, which features an indoor pool of 25m dimensions. This facility also features a sauna, steam bath, whirlpool and more.
